The Staff Stories
We have a lot of staff working and living here. Some stories are believe or not ones as we know our loved ones. For comments or to share your own cat stories, please contact their publicist at mamamendo@vintageaudiomanuals.com . Spaz a.k.a Dookie Born Valentines Day, The Mama Thomason brought him home from Walmart. He was in a cardboard box written FREE as a wee little one. Solid Black with huge soulful eyes. It’s against the Mama Thomason’s religion to have a black cat (as her mama was Mexican). Spaz was spazzed out his first year, then he mellowed and became so calm so Dookie was a better name. He always purred, loved deeply, blinked his eyes when someone would say I love you. He took up the whole bed (he was 16 pounds and long). Loved clean laundry and would sleep in the basket. He loved to butt heads for attention(you put your head near him and he would bop it with his) and Mama could lay her head on him and he made everything better by being there and purring. He loved the Mama Thomason best and she loved him best too. Mama would carry Dookie a lot! Sadly Mama held her Dookie October 2, 2007 at the vet’s office as he passed away at age 10. He was one of the first to take up Dad Thomason’s desk, we believe he wanted to type to other loved cats! He is deeply missed as his ashes are here at home with his favorite blanket. Mama will always miss her baby Dookie. PeeWee a.k.a Mr Grumpy and original name BABY Dad Thomason wanted his own baby cat and the Mama Thomason looked through the papers and everywhere for one. Finally She found an adoption place almost 100 miles away. Dad Thomason drove there and the first small orange cat fell for him and his name was Baby. Mama always said he would find his baby. He sleeps on the Daddy. Needs his ears, eyes and nose cleaned always. Whines for the Daddy and lays all over Daddy as he is working on the computer. He is 7 years old and still a Daddy’s boy and a brat. He makes Daddy take breaks from work. Well I guess Mama didn’t lie, Daddy did get his Baby and the Baby still loves to sleep on Daddy’s neck with his tail over Daddy’s nose.
Tykie a.k.a Buddha a.k.a. Friend Well Buddha is a interesting boy! He is 5 years old. When we had to put down our beloved garage kitty Grace( Daddy Thomason found her at work at his old job, she had cat AIDS). Anyway, She was solid grey and this tiny baby needing to be adopted was also solid grey. So she passed and we bought him. He loves food! He’s so big and solid round with tiny stick legs. He whines for a foot to rub him, plus he is shy. He has very beady eyes which look funny for such a small head with such a big body and a small tail. Mama talks to him often and he always listens.
Ok, now all of these cats are the same age(2 1/2) and adopted at the same time….
Mr. Friskies a.k.a Puppy a.k.a Poopie He’s so big, orange, beautiful with soulful eyes. Here’s the story that the Mama Thomason believes… One day in Heaven two animals were laying on the clouds talking for the first time about their lives on Earth. One was a small dog and one was a small cat. The Dog talked about his life as a faithful companion, he loved to fetch and be vacuumed, loved laying on his owners feet and sleeping in his favorite spot, just flopping over and passing out. He was always there first before anyone to see his owner. He loved drinking water from the faucet in the bathtub ahhh…those were the days. The Cat said that he was also faithful but showed his owner he was boss, he had a cozy bed that he loved to knead and turn around and around in, toys didn’t matter it was the lap he loved. He was always indoors and told how wonderful he was. He ate small bites whenever he wanted. He was special….ahhh those days were great! So both argued whose life was more fun on Earth arguing each point then BOOM…A voice in the background said that both were going back to Earth and they would switch lives. So we own a cat who thinks he’s a dog and someone somewhere has the dog who thinks he is the cat.
Suds a.k.a Queen Suds The only girl! Adopted for a friend who just left her here. She is small and very agile. She doesn’t get along with any other cat (except for Gizmo…be patient he’s later). She can hide anywhere and jump all over at the tops of shelves. Very sweet girl. When she goes on someone’s lap she purrs and moves all around to get the best rub. Only orange hair falls out everywhere. She lays on printers and watches the papers scrunch up under her. It’s her job to mess up papers and watch everyone doing whatever. Plus she is a true Court TV fan watching from one of her high perches.
Now these two are 2 years old and brothers adopted a couple of months after the three listed above. Why? Rose died. Sweet old Rose, who was the son’s cat. She also was shy, but had anger issues with other fuzzy kids. She was 8 years old when she passed. She was beautiful and loved a person’s foot for the best rubs, when she came out of the room. Anyway let’s go on
Vanilla a.k.a Nelly He’s white or was all white. Now he’s like a roasted marshmallow. He is a very funny fellow. His colors changed as he got older and the lines on his face show he’s always tired! But he does have some interesting habits as he loves to sit at the table very polite on a chair and reach his paw up and grab some food(any food). He loves pizza rolls the most and will run with his prize to hide it and eat. He meows when he is sleepy, he will come up behind you and stand up and scratch your bum (ouch) just for attention. He does love to be rubbed but is easily tickled and will attack your foot when doing foot rubs. You can carry him anyway you want, like a baby, upside down etc. And he get’s cross eyed when he’s wanting to play or get your food. He’s like the daddy for Gizmo (just wait….patience please). He also steals Puppy’s toy mice and rips the heads off or put them in the water bowl.
Cream Puff a.k.a Creamy Nelly’s brother is a light orange with a pink nose and paws. He looks like an Angel, really! He slumps over sleeping in whatever way he wants, whenever. He loves to chase Suds when he’s awake or be carried a lot. He loves to be called food names. Don’t call him any kind of diet food products or diet drinks…purr stops instantly! Yes he purrs for food names. His purr box is very big! Like a 15” sub. You can find him very easily, sleeping anywhere. He’s just a sweetheart with a tiny streak of Suds attacking moments. Then 10 seconds later…ZZZZZZZ
Now it’s Gizmo’s turn….
Given to Daddy and Mama Thomason found by our 18 year old daughter on July 16th 2007 He was under 2 pounds so tiny, just about 4 weeks old. Yet he’s a survivor because he chewed soft food and lapped up kitten formula…We did bottle feed him first and he learned the potty really fast. We thought it was a she so Mama named her Gizmo and then we found out later IT’S A BOY! He still is Gizmo or Gremlin when he acts up. Now he’s a bit over 5 pounds without a tail and his lovely coloring. He eats anything and steals any food…peas, spaghetti, eggs, coffee, tea, soda, popcorn, tomatoes….the list goes on. Do you get the picture now? He loves unconditionally with Mama, Daddy, the son at home and all the other cats. The other cats all love him dearly. It’s amazing. Nelly cleans him and teaches him to steal food and grab a foot and not let go. Suds teaches him to hide in all her favorite spots, Puppy teaches him to sit and watch the vacuum and play in the litter box, Creamy taught him to sleep like a log, and the shy ones watch him and love it when he comes over to rub against them. He’s a Daddy’s Boy cat, always sleeping on the Daddy especially when Daddy is working at his desk. He loves foil toys to play with and is learning to just snooze, especially wrapped around Nelly or any cat when he chooses. He’s a perfect boy. Not afraid of anything. Ready for everything!
Yes, Gizmo eats peas (and just about anything else). Gizmo now loves to be vacuumed just like Mr. Friskies does. Our home is on the side of a Mountain and we have no curtains or blinds (except for the master bedroom) so all our fuzzy children can see everything. Even the stupid pooping turkeys! Love the deer but the turkeys peck at the French doors and poop and poop…..
I mustn’t forget Allie…she’s our very fuzzy outdoor cat. Princess Sunshine is her nickname. The previous owner left her behind. Very loving and trusting …She sleeps on her back with her legs sticking up! Sometimes we find dead bird parts with lots of feathers. She guards this house and property. Let us not forget the friendly raccoons! Loves Allie’s food and is very friendly towards her. Loves grabbing the apples you throw to them! Never have been aggressive! Living here is a pleasure, it’s relaxing and there are always the views outside.
